Simple
Game Play and Effective
Merchandising Proves to be Winning Formula.
DALLAS, TX (January 1, 2008) – LAI GAMES, the
leading manufacturer of coin-operated instant redemption games,
ticket redemption games, and kiddie rides, today announced
that the company has manufactured its 10,000 Stacker Instant
Redemption Game.
Stacker,
the hugely popular instant redemption game introduced in 2005,
was the first instant redemption game on the market to offer
both major and minor prizes. The game challenges players to
stack horizontally moving blocks directly on top of each other
with each level getting progressively harder. When the player
reaches the 11th level they can accept a minor prize and walk
away a winner or continue playing for a major prize.
In
just three short years, LAI GAMES has manufactured and sold
10,000 Stacker units. The game has been a huge international
hit and is considered to be the highest revenue-generating
game in several countries. In the United States, Stacker is
consistently the top performer in many of the Prize Vending
Instant Redemption Polls and since November 2006, when LAI
GAMES opened it office in Dallas TX, the company has more
than doubled Stacker sales in the US.
One of the reasons Stacker has been so successful is because
LAI GAMES understands the importance of properly merchandising
the game and effectively communicates those ideas to operators.
In recent months, the company has seen its sales of Stacker
to bar and restaurant locations grow significantly. Location
owners and Operators have figured out that they can increase
Stacker revenue by catering to their sports fans.
One location that frequently hosts college game-watching parties
has seen Stacker revenues double since they started merchandising
the game with authentic NCAA and university-licensed merchandise
of teams their patrons come to watch.

“Stacker
provides players with an easy-to-play game concept based on
reaction skills, but the merchandise in the game really gets
the attention of the player,” stated Chris Kinney, Marketing
Manager of LAI GAMES. “The simple game play coupled
with merchandise that players desire is a winning formula
for both the game players and operators alike.”
This
winning formula Mr. Kinney speaks of has helped develop a
rather cult-like following of Stacker by the game playing
community and has established the game as a well-recognized
brand. Proof of this can be witnessed by visiting www.youtube.com
and searching stacker arcade. You’ll find over 40 videos
of players who have attempted to “capture lightening
in a bottle” by recording themselves playing the game.
Many of the videos on display actually do capture the excitement
of the players as they win a major prize from Stacker.
Competing game manufacturers are well aware of the revenue
that Stacker is producing and the loyal following its generating.
In the last year, several Chinese-manufactured knock-offs
represented by established game companies have entered the
market to profit off the goodwill LAI GAMES has established
with Stacker. These imported games from China are identical
to Stacker except for their names and cabinet artwork. However,
to avoid the inevitable confusion that these knock-offs will
undoubtedly create for its fans, LAI GAMES wants its loyal
fans to know that if it doesn’t say LAI GAMES on the
outside, it’s not Stacker on the inside.
LAI
GAMES is currently taking measures to protect their intellectual
property rights for Stacker in the Market. The Company recently
hired Slater & Matsil L.L.P. to take legal action against
companies who are marketing knock-offs that have improperly
appropriated the intellectual property of the “Stacker”
product.
